The Victoria String Quartet will welcome in Spring with this poignant but irresistible programme of masterpieces. Schubert’s turbulent “Quartetsatz” serves as a starter, introducing three short quirky pieces by Benjamin Britten. The main course is Mendelssohn’s mature but fresh and exuberant quartet in D major, written whilst he was on his honeymoon.
