This new soprano and harp duo, formed in 2012, perform with an instinctive musical partnership. Hardly surprising since Anna-Clare Monk and Lauren Scott were school friends who first met as teenagers whilst studying at Chethams School of Music. Anna-Clare and Lauren are creating an exciting and unique repertoire of new (and old) music which celebrates their separate musical journeys to date. From reworked John Dowland, to songs by award winning composer Andy Scott this is a wonderful new partnership of soprano and harp.

Anna-Clare Monk was born in Lancashire. She was awarded a scholarship to Chethams School of Music and went on to study at the RNCM and NOS funded by ROH, Covent Garden and The Peter Moores Foundation. Anna-Clare has regularly performed principal roles with leading opera houses. Highlights have included principle roles for Opera North, Welsh National Opera,  English National Opera, English Touring Opera, Teatro Communale, Bologna, Scottish Opera and Castleward, Ireland. Anna-Clare Monk also has a busy concert diary, performing regularly at the UK’s leading venues and recently touring the USA, Italy, Sweden and Denmark. Future performances include “proms” concerts at venues across the UK. Last season Anna-Clare received rave reviews for her portrayal of Miss Wordsworth in Britten’s Albert Herring for ETO.

Lauren Scott is an experienced solo, chamber and orchestral musician who over the last 20 years has worked extensively as guest principal harp with many of the UK’s leading orchestras, RLPO, RSNO, Halle, BBCSSO, BBCSO, NCO & Northern Sinfonia. She has performed at major concert venues across the UK, from festivals including Edinburgh, Cheltenham and the BBC Proms to West End shows, with artists such as Robbie Williams and Katherine Jenkins, to venues as diverse as the Tower of London and HMS Illustrious. Lauren played in Duo Mandala with Alison Stephens for over 20 years, which commissioned new works for Mandolin and Harp. Currently working with flutist, Clare Southworth and the Caliente Trio.
